The Ode to Popcorn
When we think about popcorn, images of enjoying a bag during
quiet summer days at the ballpark, relaxing to a good book
during cold winter nights or snacking during the great
American movie spring to mind. Young and the young at heart
enjoy coming together to indulge in this unique and tasty
treat.
Popcorn is planted in the spring, grows throughout the summer,
and is harvested in the fall. Popcorn seeds are sizzled in
oil, blasted with microwaves and cooked over campfires. It's
simple to make, fun to eat and always in abundance.
We pour butter, caramel, salt, sugar and cheese, over the top.
We created movie style, light, light with butter, corn on the
cob, kettle corn, extra salt, no salt, movie style with salt,
super light, popcorn cakes, popcorn balls, popcorn bite size
snacks, pre-popped bags and so on. If there is a way to enjoy
popcorn, chances are someone has discovered it.
Popcorn is the snack food that goes with everything, after a
hot dog cookout or after a five star meal, popcorn seems to be
the perfect finishing touch and a delightful dessert. Popcorn
is used as a comfort food, a partner to different beverages,
and midnight snack. As long as there are bowls, there will be
popcorn to fill them.
Even though Popcorn is the only food that gets stuck in our
teeth and caught in our throats, we continue to reach into the
bag. Popcorn fits into every diet and in to everyone's
cupboard. It outlasted other snacks and will be there
throughout the years.
